"Dark Knight" and his son Gordon Knight

Gord in his own words:

"I'd have to say I'm a Bat-fan because, among other things, I appreciated what Batman stands for. The moral lessons intoned regularly by Adam West, as well as how the Dynamic duo always proved that no matter how bad your situation is, or how hopeless it seems, there is always a way out of it. "

Batfriend's personal favorite Dark_Knight  post from the 1966 Batman Messageboard:

"Ever been at a convention or a costume party or something, and had a strange experience?

I'll never forget the time I wore my Batman costume to a Halloween party at a club with my date, who was dressed as Catwoman, and we were two of the last three couples who were semi-finalists to win for best costume. (The grand prize was a trip for two to Los Vegas, all expenses paid!)

We had gone in her car, and since the parking lot was filled up, she had parked on the road nearby, where we could keep an eye on it from the club. Unfortunately, it was at the crest of a long incline, and she had neglected to set the emergency brake.

They called all of the finalists up to the stage, to have the judges get a last look before they chose the winners and runners up.

So there we were lined up with the other contestants on the stage, waiting for the judges decision. We were both getting a lot of good reaction from the crowd, and I was beginning to think we actually had a shot at winning the contest.

Imagine my horror when I glanced out the window and saw her car began to coast down the hill by itself!

I leaped from the stage, and dashed out the door and ran after the car, cape flapping in the wind! My date was close behind me, screaming at the top of her lungs!

A lot of people ran outside after us, to see what was going on, and saw me chasing this car down the street! They actually were cheering "Go Batman, go!!" I guess they thought it was all an act or some kind of stunt.

I caught up to the errant vehicle a half block down the hill, got the door open and slammed on the brakes.  But we never had the nerve to go back to the costume party after that.

To this day, I still wonder if we had won that trip!
