Burt Ward , Billy Wayne, and

Billy Loyd in his amazing King Tut creation

Billy in his own words:

"I have been a Batman fan for 38 years! It all started in 1966 when the Batman series first appeared on TV. My brother Bruce and I thought Batman and Robin were the coolest guys we had ever seen! We spent many hours playing in the yard with our bath towel capes pinned around our necks.(blue and yellow of course) since I was the oldest I always got to be Batman. We also had cool t-shirts with the Batman logo that our granny Louise had bought for us. We always wanted real, live, honest to god Batman costumes to play in but never got them.  They probably wouldn't have lasted long anyway.

I saw Batman go through many changes over the years and finally lost interest in the mid 80s. Early in 2003 we got a computer and I began searching the web looking for sites about the 66-68 series.  I was curious about the actors and where they were and which ones were still living. Then one day I came across Wally Wingert’s Batman costume site and I fell in love with the Batman of my youth all over again. I set out to try and fulfill my childhood dream of having my own Batman costume.  This has led me to make many new friends and to achieve new costuming skills.

Ghostdog's sons Billy Wayne and Andrew

(the younger brother always get stuck being Robin)

My goal is to help my fellow Bat-fans obtain the costume pieces they want by providing them with the instructions to make it themselves or to direct them to professional costumers that produce beautiful quality work. In January of 2004 my oldest son Billy Wayne and I were fortunate enough to go to Austin,TX and meet Adam West and Burt Ward along with Frank Gorshin and many of our new batfriends.  Our plans are to go to San Diego this summer and meet more of our new friends and to have a blast The Batman community is one of the best group of folks that I have had the pleasure of getting to know. I still don't have that costume yet but I’m trying to get Billy Wayne one together. I'm just a little too big to  be running around in tights anyway!"

Batfriend's personal favorite Ghostdog post from the 1966 Batman Messageboard:

"I wanted to share this with you while its fresh and I’m still giggling. As most of you know I was at the Austin convention dressed as King Tut.  My 3 year old Andrew has sat and looked at the photos numerous times with me and every time he sees me in costume he points and says "daddy!"  Tonight we were watching Batman on TV Land and as soon as Tut came on the screen he said, "oh no, it's daddy!"

I liked to have fell out! That’s my boy!"  --GHOSTDOG
